Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation (formerly Alzheimer’s Australia Research) is offering over $1 million to support emerging researchers through a number of awards.
Project Grants
• Resthaven Inc Grant of $150,000 in Pain and Dementia
• AADRF Dementia Research Grants of $30-50,000
• A number of priority area driven grants
Travel Grant
• Rosemary Foundation Travel Grant of $15,000
Postdoctoral Fellowships
• A number of postdoctoral fellowships, including part and full fellowships

Pfizer Australia
Pfizer Australia Paediatric Endocrine Care Research Grants
Pfizer Australia will allocated AUD $150,000 per annum to this initiative as part of our continued commitment to Paediatric Endocrinology research.
APEC Research Grants are designed to encourage young researchers to enter or continue in the field of Paediatric Endocrinology. Therefore, applicants must be under 40 years of age at the time of applying and a trainee in Paediatric Endocrinology in Australasia or within 5 years of conferring of FRACP or within 5 years of accreditation of Paediatric Endocrinology training from the Endocrinology SAC (Royal Australian College of Physicians). Applications will not be accepted from senior researchers.
Individual grants will be available up to AUD $55,000 (including GST). Each grant is for a period of 12 months.
Applications are welcome from medical graduates who are currently residing, working, and conducting research within Australasia. Successful applicants would be expected to conduct their research within Paediatric Endocrinology Units within Australasia.
Applications closing date 23 March 2012.

Pfizer Australia Neuroscience Research Grants
Pfizer Australia will allocate up to AUD $300,000 per annum to this initiative as part of our continued commitment to neuroscience research.
The research grants program is open to medical graduates who are early in their research career, having commenced research (or have returned to research after an appropriate break) within the last 5 years. Therefore applications are open to medical graduates who have obtained, or are in the process of obtaining specialist qualifications/doctorate and/or are currently in advanced training. Individual grants will be available up to AUD $44,000 (including GST). Each grant is for a period of 12 months.
The principal applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Grant recipients must conduct the majority of the research within Australia.
Research funding is awarded to support and advance basic and clinical research involving humans. Applications are welcome for research into any aspect of:
- Cognitive decline
- Mood disorder
- Pain

Pfizer Australia Cancer Research Grants
Pfizer Australia will allocate up to AUD $300,000 per annum to this initiative as part of our continued commitment to cancer research.
This research grants program is open to medical graduates who are early in their research career. Eligible applicants will have entered the field of research, (or returned after an appropriate break) within the last five years of having attained post graduate research or clinical qualifications, whichever is the latter (e.g. the applicant has been awarded a PhD/MD or College Fellowship within the last five years). Individual grants will be available up to AUD $55,000 (including GST). Each grant is for a period of 12 months.
The principal applicant must be a citizen of permanent resident of Australia. Grant recipients must conduct the majority of the research within Australia.
The proposals should involve:
- clinical research
- translational research
